The farewell event in my junior school is unforgettable memory in my life. At the time, i went to beach Banten to have a farewell events with all teachers and friends. We leave at 07.00 am on 26 june 2008. One by one bus that took us were off. Along the way we cheeried, laugh, sang, and maybe some are slept. After take on traveled about 3 hours we arrieved there. Cool weather and beeautiful scenery greet our arrival. Unfortunately, the surf beach was not friendly.
The first thing done there was gathering to further follow some events that had been arranged. First, we ate lunch together, afterwards the headmaster embedded the receiver students who got the highest score of the National Exam. Then, there was a gift exchange event. And after all scheduled events were done. We were free to enjoy the scene on the beach. Even some of friends dared to swim though the wave were high.
When i and my best friends in the sea shore and we took some pictures, seddenly i was called by a child my teacher and her said “sister, there was drawned !!” i was suprised to hear that statement and i immediately ran to found information on what actually happened. Apparently it’s true, my friends and my english teacher’s son was drawned. I don’t know what i was felt at the moment, between sad and i could not believe it.
Though the students know the wave, they keep swam. Finally some students were drawned. There were five students, include one of my english teacher’s son. All teachers tried to help. Then finally they could rescue one children, that was my teacher’s son and they brought him to the hospital right away. Unfortunately the other four drawned students had not been found. After one hour, the rescue team found one other drawned student, unfortunately he was die. After heard the news, me and the other friends tried to be strong. Time goes by until noom, and the searching was stopped while the three drawned students had not been found. We went home sadly and hope our friends were found.
The next morning, i heard news from my friend that one other drawned student was found but he is die too, while two other still lost until now. Now almost 3 years the tragedy happen. I lost four friends, two were found but die and two other were lost. The farewell events that planned run happily end tragedy. This story wiil be unforgettable memory in my life. Good bye my beloved friends, rest in peace.
